PINETREE GOLF RULES

GOLF RULES
All players are expected to play in the spirit of the game by acting with integrity, showing consideration to others, and taking good care of the golf course. Any question with respect to these Golf Rules should be directed to the professional golf staff.

Enforcement.
-
The Board of Directors authorizes the professional golf staff, golf course superintendent, and club management, as the case may be, to enforce these Golf Rules.

The Golf & Greens Committee shall be authorized to issue warning letters to members for violations of any of the provisions of these Golf Rules. Any repeated violations or serious breaches of the provisions of these Golf Rules shall be reported to the Board of Directors for potential discipline pursuant to the club bylaws.

Hours of Operations.
-
The golf course shall be open Tuesday through Sunday 8:00AM to dusk. The golf course shall be closed Christmas Day.
-
No golf carts will be issued after the golf shop closes. Please consult the "Pinetree Post" or the club website for seasonal golf shop hours.

The golf course and practice facilities are closed to members on Monday unless the golf course is open for regular play. The golf course may be available to employees and approved outings on Mondays. Members may participate in approved outings.

The practice facility is open from 7:15AM to dusk.

Notwithstanding the remainder of this section 2, golf course, practice facility, and golf shop availability may be adjusted for the reasons listed below. Any adjustments to the schedule shall be posted in the “Pinetree Post” or club website.

Open on Mondays for holidays or when weather causes significant closings of the golf course.
-
Delayed or closed by frost or freezing as directed by the golf course superintendent. During winter, the tee time schedule will be posted to the club website under “Tee Times.”

Necessary course maintenance as directed by the golf course superintendent.

Tee Times.
-
Tee times for weekends are available when the golf shop opens on the preceding Thursday.
-
Fivesomes are permitted and are the maximum group size permitted. Fivesomes must make every effort to maintain pace of play. The professional golf staff has reasonable discretion to allow afterhours scrambles with more than five players
-
Guests.
-
All guests must be registered with the golf shop.
-
On Saturdays between May 1 and September 30, a member is limited to only one guest before 1:00PM.
-
A member may sponsor unaccompanied guests during non-peak times at the discretion of the golf professional.
-
The Board of Directors shall set the fee for guests. In the event of inclement weather, guest fees shall be waived if the player has not completed 5 holes (9-hole rate otherwise applies) or 14 holes (18-hole rates otherwise apply).

Family.
-
The Board of Directors reserves the right to restrict play to one individual per membership on Saturdays before 1:00 PM. (e.g. only the member or his/her spouse or annual guest may play, but not both). The Board of Directors reserves the right to restrict play of dependents at any time.

Dependent males may not participate in men's events, including the club championships.
-
Dependent females may participate in Pinetree Ladies' Golf Association activities, with that Association's approval.
-
Unaccompanied dependents under age fourteen must obtain the permission from the Golf Professional.
-
Golf Carts.
-
Golf carts shall only be rented to persons with a valid driver's license.
-
Golf carts must be operated by a person seated in the driver’s seat.
-
All cart direction and restriction signs must be obeyed.
-
Golf carts should be kept on the cart path whenever possible. All four tires should be on the pavement when parked, to avoid wear and tear around the paths.

The 90-degree rule shall always remain in effect unless golf carts are restricted to the cart paths only. Golf carts shall be restricted to paths when the golf course superintendent deems it necessary to protect the golf course.

Only persons paying the posted fee for a cart prior to teeing off are permitted to ride in a golf cart during that round.

No more than two people may ride in one golf cart and not more than two bags may be carried on a golf cart

In twosome play, only one golf cart is permitted. In threesome or foursome play, not more than two golf carts are permitted. In fivesome play not more than three golf carts are permitted.. The professional golf staff shall charge a member the full cost of the golf cart for a member not complying with this rule.

Golf carts are for use on club grounds only.
-
All golf carts must be returned to the golf shop no later than fifteen minutes before sundown.
-
Golf carts must be kept out of all wooded and fescue areas. Unusually rocky, bumpy or wet areas must also be avoided.
-
Members are responsible for any damage to the golf cart they have rented for that round.
-
Exceptions to the golf cart rules may be made by the Golf & Greens Committee on an individual basis for any persons with physical handicaps which prohibit them from adhering to the cart path rules. Any request for a handicap flag or other accommodation must be made in writing to the professional golf staff. Handicapped flagged golf carts must remain at least 30 feet from bunkers, tees, and greens unless on a cart path. Any special privileges may be suspended on “cart path only” days or upon order or the golf course superintendent.

Pull carts and motorized walking carts must stay off tees, fringes, greens, and wooded and fescue areas. Pull carts and motorized walking carts shall be restricted to cart paths when the golf course superintendent deems it necessary to protect the golf course.

The Board of Directors shall set the fee for renting a golf cart, which may be updated from time to time. Senior members and their spouses are eligible for a golf cart discount. In the event of inclement weather, golf cart fees will be waived if the player has not completed 5 holes (9-hole rate otherwise applies) or 14 holes (18-hole rates otherwise apply).

Privately-owned golf carts are prohibited.
-
Pace of Play.
-
All groups must complete nine holes in two hours or less. The professional golf staff shall tour the course from time to time to ensure play is moving at the appropriate pace. The professional staff is authorized to take any action in its reasonable discretion when a group is out of position, which means when the group reaches the teeing area of a par 4 or 5 and the preceding group has completed play on that hole.

Single players and twosomes shall have no priority. The professional golf staff shall use its reasonable best efforts to pair players.

Rules.
-
Play shall be governed by the Local Rules Effective April 2019, as may be amended from time to time by the Golf & Greens Committee and the Board of Directors.
-
Winter rules shall be in effect from November 1 to May 30 unless modified by the Golf & Greens Committee and the Board of Directors.
-
The range shall be “mats only” from November 1 to May 30 unless modified by the Golf & Greens Committee and the Board of Directors.
-
Tournaments.
-
The club shall recognize the following club champions in a format to be determined by the Golf & Greens Committee and Board of Directors, in consultation with the professional staff: men’s gross club champion, women’s gross club champion, men’s senior club champion, women’s senior club champion, men’s super-senior club champion, men’s net club champion, and women’s net club champion. Priority parking spots shall be awarded to the following club champions: men’s gross club champion, women’s gross club champion, men’s senior club champion, women’s senior club champion, and men’s super-senior club champion.

The club shall allow the MGA and PLGA to host tournaments on a schedule to be approved no less than annually by the Golf & Greens Committee and the Board of Directors.

The club shall host a men’s and women’s member guest tournament on a date and format to be determined by the Golf & Greens Committee and Board of Directors, in consultation with the professional golf staff.

The tournament schedule shall be posted to the club website.
-
Professionals shall be ineligible for any club championships.
-
Miscellaneous.
-
Players entering bunkers shall smooth out and rake all footprints and depressions after completing play, but before leaving area. Players, after play from a bunker, shall kick sand off their shoes before leaving area.
-
Players shall repair all ball marks promptly upon reaching the green.
-
The golf course may not be used for any purpose other than playing golf. The playing of other games, jogging, walking, rollerblading, roller-skating, riding bicycles or motor scooters, snow boards, sleds, and other similar items or activities on the course is prohibited.

Practicing on the golf course is prohibited.
-
All trash should be placed in the containers located at the tees.
-
All broken tees should be removed to prevent damage to golf course equipment.
-
Each player must have their own bag and clubs.
-
Members must display a bag tag identifying them as a member.
-
All scores must be entered into the GHIN system pursuant to the USGA handicap manual.
-
The Board of Directors shall set the range fees.
-
The Hole-in-One Club is open to all golfing members. Members may register to become a member of this club in the Golf shop. When a member of this club makes a hole-in-one or a double eagle at Pinetree, each member of this club is billed five dollars, as may be amended from time to time by the Golf & Greens Committee and Board of Directors. The member making the hole-in-one or the double eagle shall receive one hundred percent of the proceeds in golf shop credit. The hole-in-one or the double eagle must be witnessed by at least two people.
